In September of 2006 I experimented with an idea to photograph the entire realm of vision from a single point in space, which resulted in The Captive Universe Project. I use a 35mm film camera and tripod. Hand cut stencils are traced onto 26 separate photos, and the 26 shapes are cut using a blade and ruler. The photos are taken from an average head height distance off the ground. The result is a hand-cut map, providing directions to a specific point of view.
